SWIFTWATER, Pa. — Two men are behind bars following an armed robbery at a Monroe County convenience store early Sunday morning.
According to Pocono Township Police, officers were dispatched to the Sheetz gas station and convenience store in Swiftwater at approximately 3 a.m. after receiving reports of an active armed robbery.
Investigators state that two suspects, identified as Andre Knighton and Anthony Pena-Vega, entered the business wearing masks to conceal their identities. Once inside, the men allegedly grabbed a store employee and ordered a second worker to empty the cash register and hand over multiple cartons of cigarettes.
Following a swift response by law enforcement, both Knighton and Pena-Vega were apprehended and taken into police custody.
