A physical altercation involving a knife left two men hospitalized and facing criminal charges on Sunday afternoon. Hanover Township Police were dispatched to the area of Lee Park Avenue, between Oxford and Division Streets, at approximately 2:00 p.m. following reports of a fight. Upon arrival, officers identified the involved parties as 25-year-old Kennie Acosta of Wilkes-Barre and 26-year-old Dominic Irwin of Hanover Township.
Both men were transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries. Irwin was treated and subsequently released from the hospital, while Acosta remained under medical observation. Following the investigation, Irwin was charged with multiple offenses, including simple assault and aggravated assault. He is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 22. Authorities have not yet detailed the specific motive behind the dispute.
