A guilty verdict reached in the trial of Joseph Persico. A Carbon County jury deliberated for about a half hour yesterday afternoon before finding the 73 year old Shavertown attorney guilty on all charges, including vehicular homicide, in connection with a wrong-way crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 2018 that killed 50 year old Paul Gerrity of Scranton. Persico now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three years in state prison. The judge allowed Persico to remain free on $150,000 unsecured bail pending sentencing early next year.
