The West Nile Virus has been detected in both Lackawanna & Luzerne Counties. Officials in Lackawanna County confirmed a positive sample of West Nile virus in Archbald earlier this week, while a positive sample was reported by Luzerne County officials yesterday in Hanover Township. An advisory was issued by the state Department of Health to raise awareness among health officials, but states there is no immediate widespread concern about the virus spreading among the public.
