Wilkes-Barre police investigate armed robbery of business

Police in Wilkes Barre are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at a business on South Pennsylvania Avenue. According to reports, the suspect entered the establishment around 4 a.m. and approached the counter while displaying a firearm. The suspect, described as a male with a large build and standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, ordered the victim to hand over money from both cash registers. After obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the scene and was last seen heading towards East Northampton Street.
