Depending on where you live in NEPA, you could see a wintry mix to trace of snow, or up to 8" by Saturday morning. WNEP meteorologist is calling for a trace to 3" of snow in the valley cities, and 4"-8" in the eastern parts of the area including Carbondale and Honesdale and the Poconos. WNEP forecast

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 5 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze.

* WHERE...In New York, Chemung and Steuben Counties. In Pennsylvania, Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties.

* WHEN...From noon today to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A mix of snow and sleet moves into the area this afternoon, some freezing rain could mix in during the evening hours. The wintry mix of snow, sleet and possibly freezing rain continues into the overnight hours before ending early Saturday morning. Localized higher amounts are possible in eastern Lackawanna county, depending on how much sleet mixes in with the snow.
