A woman was rescued from a burning home early this morning after a two-alarm fire broke out in Kingston. The fire started shortly before 7 a.m. along Payne Avenue, near Main Street. Multiple fire departments from Luzerne County responded to the scene.
The woman, who lived in a rear second-floor apartment and was the one to call in the fire, was located by crews and safely removed from the building. She was taken to a hospital, though her condition has not been released.
Two other residents from a front apartment were also displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting them with temporary housing and support.
