The Pennsylvania DEP is preparing to fill a creek bed in Luzerne County after a recent opening has led to water loss. This opening comes just five months after a mine subsidence in the creek. While the water seemed to be steadily flowing, however, orange markings can be seen along several rocks in the creek appearing to mark areas that need to be filled. The DEP will begin the work to fill the creek in the next few days and in the meantime they will continue to monitor Toby Creek.
