Luzerne County officials released a statement making it once again necessary for anyone visiting county buildings beginning today to wear a mask, regardless of their vaccination status. The move, according to acting Luzerne County Manager Romilda Crocomo, was done due to the increase in the level of transmission of COVID 19 in Luzerne County and across the country. Shortly after, Walter Griffith, a member of Luzerne County Council, notified officials he will not attend meetings in person until the mandate is removed and it returns to leaving mask wearing up to each individual. According to state officials they are monitoring the situation but have not released new masking requirements.
