Milo Yiannopoulos, one of the early figures of the internet "alt-right," is being held in an ICE detention facility in Alexandra, Louisiana, according to multiple reports.

Yiannopoulos is a British subject, according to federal records.

Yiannopoulos gained notoriety as a writer for the far-right web site Breitbart.com and for making racists comments that earned him a lifetime ban from Twitter in 2016. The "lifetime" ban ended when Elon Musk bought Twitter and reinstated Yiannopoulos' account in 2022.

More recently, Yiannopoulos was part of the presidential campaign for rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye.

Ye is in New Orleans for a concert Friday night at Caesars Superdome.

Yiannopoulos' ICE detention appears to be part of a right-wing feud. Another far-right influencer, Laura Loomer, took credit for Yiannopoulos' arrest, claiming he threatened her.

In an X post Laura Loomer – another member of the conservative media sphereclaimed that she “was the first person to report on the fact that Milo was in the U.S. illegally where he incited violence against [Donald] President Trump and worked for Marjorie Traitor [Taylor] Greene.”
