A letter signed by Regional Hospital of Scranton employees, community members and two state representatives was sent to the Community Health System administration. It calls on the company based in Tennessee to make investments in the Scranton hospital and its workforce in order to avert an impending strike. They are asking for CHS to pay market competitive wages and provide adequate staffing of the facility in Scranton. CHS said negotiations are ongoing and if a strike is called, they will continue to provide quality care. Union members are holding a strike vote meeting November 16. At that time they will decide on the date and duration of a strike.
