Now that Dak Prescott’s contract has been locked down, he and the Joneses all found something else to agree on:
The Cowboys are the best team in the NFC East.
During Prescott’s news conference on Wednesday following his four-year, $160 million contract, Jerry and Stephen Jones were asked if the Cowboys are indeed the best team in the division.
Before either could answer, Prescott interjected and said, “Yes.”
Stephen followed and said, “Yes. Absolutely.”
The NFC East was the butt of all jokes last year, with the Washington Football Team winning the division at 7-9, but the Cowboys also lost their franchise quarterback in Week 5 to a gruesome ankle fracture that cost Prescott the season.
With Prescott healthy, the Cowboys have the most experienced and undoubtedly best quarterback within the division, as of now, which certainly helps their case as the best in the division.
Despite the contract, there will be questions about Prescott’s health heading into the 2021 season, but the quarterback assured he will be just fine.
“I thought about jogging out here and jumping on the stage,” he said. “But I don’t think y’all are ready for that.”
