Nick Sirianni’s flower speech to the team prior to Week 8 did not seem to carry over into Week 9, and it certainly did not resonate with the fan base.
As the Philadelphia Eagles head coach walked off Lincoln Financial Field following a 27-24 loss to the Chargers on Sunday, a fan threw a bouquet of flowers toward Sirianni.
The first-year head coach was incensed and began yelling back at the fan while being restrained.
WPVI reporter Jamie Apody tweeted out the video of the incident, which shows Sirianni stopping just as he’s about to head into the corridor to the locker room to confront the fan.
The footage did not seem to show the flowers enter the picture, but the camera pans to the ground which shows the flowers laying there.
The security guard following Sirianni also appears to duck his head as he’s entering the corridor with him, signaling that something was thrown in their direction.

Frustrations are certainly high in Philadelphia as the team fell to 3-6 on the season and have yet to win a home game. Sirianni has not won over the fanbase with the team’s performance or his interactions with the media, either.
Prior to Week 8, Sirianni revealed to the media he posted a picture of a flower in the locker room and told the team they are a flower that still needs to grow and fertilize.
The head coach was mostly mocked for his attempted inspiration, but the Eagles followed with a 44-6 road win over the Lions.
The Eagles could not replicate that success against a much better Chargers team on Sunday, however, and now the Eagles must hit the road to Denver to face a Broncos team that just put a beatdown on the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys.
