There was no debate this time: Jayson Tatum was unbelievable.

In a season of ups, downs, controversies and discomfort, Tatum added some punctuation at least for one night, netting 60 points in the Celtics' 143-140 overtime win over the Spurs.

The output tied Larry Bird's team record for most points in one game. Bird's historic game came on March 12, 1985 against Atlanta.

Tatum would end up playing 45 minutes, shooting 20-of-37 from the field and 5-for-7 from beyond the 3-point stripe. He went 15-of-17 from the foul line, chipping in with eight rebounds and five assists. He also didn't have a single turnover.

The performance made up for a rough shooting night for Jaylen Brown, who made just five of his 24 shots. The other key scoring threat for the Celtics proved to be rookie Aaron Nesmith, who netted 16 points in 30 minutes.

Brown did hit the clutch shot of the game with 16.7 seconds left, giving the Celtics' the lead for good.

Tristan Thompson also contributed for the Celtics, who trailed by 32 points at one point, hauling in 15 rebounds. The comeback marks the third-largest in NBA history.
