Take this for what it's worth -- which may be nothing, depending upon your perspective.

University of Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett appeared on The Dan Patrick Show Thursday. In his interview, the potential first-round pick recalled getting to meet Donovan McNabb as a kid, and his childhood fandom of the Philadelphia Eagles as a whole:

This, of course, means nothing in regards to whether the Eagles would have interest in using one of their three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft on Pickett, but it's a fun storyline nonetheless.

Pickett -- who attended Ocean Township High School in Oakhurst, N.J. -- exploded as a fifth-year senior, tossing 42 touchdowns to seven interceptions, while racking up 4,319 passing yards. The 23-year-old is one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy, with the winner slated to be announced Saturday night.

While last year's NFL Draft class featured five quarterbacks -- Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields and Mac Jones -- selected in the first round, the 2022 class appears thin on potential game-changers at the most important position in sports. One of Pickett or Matt Corral of Ole Miss is likely to be the top quarterback selected next April.

It's not yet clear if the Eagles will be in the market for a quarterback. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported earlier this week that the locker room is "completely bought in" on Jalen Hurts. The Eagles could very well use their three first round picks to address other needs on the roster, and continue to evaluate Hurts, a former second-round pick, for another season.

It's also possible that the Eagles could use some of their 2022 draft ammo to trade for a veteran quarterback that might become available, such as Russell Wilson.

If the Eagles do fall in love with Pickett or Corral, they may need to trade up to draft said quarterback. They are currently on pace to have the No. 12, 13 and 17 picks in the first round. To land their desired prospect, the Eagles might need to leapfrog other teams that could be in the market for a quarterback, including but not limited to the Houston Texans, New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints.
