Matthew Stafford seems to be making a run at a record no quarterback wants.
The Los Angeles Rams quarterback tossed his NFL-leading fourth pick-six of the season on Sunday when was intercepted by Ravens safety Chuck Clark at the Rams 18-yard line and returned for a touchdown.
It marked the 27th pick-six of his career, which puts him fourth all time in the NFL, trailing Joe Namath (28), Dan Marino (29) and Brett Favre (31).
The single-season record is seven, which was set by Jameis Winston in 2019, so Stafford appears to be safe from that.
Turnovers have been a problem for the veteran signal caller of late.
Last week, Stafford tossed three picks against the Vikings despite the Rams getting the win. After Clark picked off Stafford for a touchdown, he intercepted the Rams quarterback again on a deep ball intended for Odell Beckham Jr.
He also lost a fumble at the start of the third quarter.
The Rams traded Jared Goff to the Lions for Stafford this offseason in a move that was seen to help put Los Angeles over the top as a Super Bowl contender.
Despite the pick-six problem, Stafford has still played well for the majority of the season and had the Rams atop the NFC West entering Sunday.
Nevertheless, his tendency for pick-sixes drew scrutiny on social media.
