New music will be a big focus on the tour, which runs through March 2022, as Lane has been enjoying his new-found freedom to release songs on his own time.
“This time around, I’m going to take a completely different approach,” Chris told Audacy’s Katie Neal during a recent interview in regards to new music. “As I write songs that I really like a lot, and as we discuss with the team if everybody feels strongly about it, it gives me the freedom to record it whenever I want and put it out whenever I want.”
Yesterday, Chris did exactly that as he shared a song he wrote while awaiting the arrival of his first-born, Dutton Walker Lane, titled “I Ain’t Even Met You Yet.” In addition to the song, Lane released an accompanying music video that showcases the couple's pregnancy journey from finding out they're pregnant to bringing Walker home.
“Wrote Dutton a song a couple months ago and wanted to share it with y’all,” Lane wrote on social media. “Being a dad is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced!”
The track follows a number of fresh releases by Lane in matter of a months which include “Summer Job Money,” “That’s What Mamas Are For,” “Tequila On A Boat (feat. Dustin Lynch)” and “Fill Them Boots,” which is currently climbing the charts and is sure to bring some tempo to Lane’s Fill Them Boots Tour.
“Never been more excited for anything in my life,” Chris wrote on social media to announce his tour. “Me, Lauren, Dutton and the boys can’t wait to see y’all… it’s been way too long.”
Joining Chris on the road are Tyler Rich, Ernest and Lily Rose. Tickets go on sale June 25, find them here.
