'Morning Quickie': Cleveland Browns & Mayor Bibb make huge concert announcement

Two Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famers coming to Browns Stadium

After speculation swirled across social media about this “special concert announcement,” at Cleveland Browns Stadium, we finally have an answer. The Browns, members of Live Nation, and Mayor Justin Bibb announced on Thursday that rock ‘n’ roll icons Billy Joel and Rod Stewart are coming to the city for a joint stadium performance this summer.

The big concert is set for Friday, Sept. 13 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.

It's the first time both Joel and Stewart have performed on the same stage. Officials say Stewart will open the show and Joel will close out the night.

This announcement comes just days after news surfaced that Joel is dropping a new single — "Turn the Lights Back On" — next week on Feb. 1.

Stewart, meanwhile, has a new album — "Swing Fever" — coming out Feb. 23.

This marks the second concert event scheduled for Cleveland Browns Stadium this year as the Rolling Stones previously announced their plans for a June 15 performance.
