A homeowner in Wisconsin is finding out that some people have no boundaries. A woman was arrested late Monday in Madison for allegedly breaking into a home and cooking herself a shrimp and pasta dinner. The homeowner called police saying she was startled seeing someone walking around inside her house when she got home at 10:30 pm. The suspect, identified as Joanna Lee, answered the door when officers knocked and claimed the homeowner gave her keys to the home earlier that day. The homeowner says she never met the woman before. Lee is in jail facing a burglary charge.

Hooters of America is fighting to figure out how to get back to a firm financial standing. Revenue declines have caused the chain to close several locations, and the company is currently getting guidance from Accordion Partners and the law firm Ropes & Gray on how to deal with its debt load. When it announced the closures, Hooters cited “pressure from current market conditions,” and said it would continue to open new locations. The chain has around $300-million in asset-backed bonds to replay.

A new report has revealed just how many patties fly off the grill at McDonald’s every day. The Takeout did the “McMath” looking at reports that the fast-food chain sold nearly 6.5 billion burgers in 2021. More specifically, they looked at the often-cited statistic that about 75 hamburgers are sold per second at Golden Arches worldwide — and there’s even a website dedicated to watching every second of McDonald’s sales in real-time. With 86,400 seconds in a day, that would mean that McDonald’s sells about 6.48 million burgers in a single day. And over the course of a year, that comes out to 2.36 billion patties being served around the globe. For over 40 years, McDonald’s was tracking and advertising how many burgers they sold on store signs until they stopped keeping track in 1994. Now, many signs just appear to say “billions and billions served.” This crazy high number might be why the fast-food chain stopped tallying, but the Wall Street Journal reported on their 300 billionth burger in 2013 — over a decade ago.
