In recognition of National Tooth Fairy Day on August 22nd, Delta Dental released the findings of their 26th annual Original Tooth Fairy Poll. Among other findings, the poll of 1,000 parents of kids ages six to 12 reveals that there’s been a decrease of 6% in the average amount of money left by the Tooth Fairy since last year. It’s dropped from $6.23 to $5.84 for a single tooth and from $7.29 to $7.09 for the first-ever lost tooth. This is the first decline in average payout by the Tooth Fairy in five years. In past years, the amount of money left for a tooth has tracked with the S&P 500, but it saw a 20% increase over the last year. Despite this lower payout, four out of five American homes still recognize the tradition, and it’s seen as having a positive impact on children’s oral health.
A Florida woman ended up in handcuffs after getting a little too saucy -- and assaulting her sister with a plate of ravioli. Nakhia Davis got steamed at the victim after her sister “did not allow the defendant to have any of the food” she delivered to the pair’s Florida home. The hangry 21-year-old reacted by grabbing the pasta and flinging it at her sis -- which cops confirmed when they arrived on the scene and found sauce still dripping from her. Davis, who was charged with domestic battery, spent a night in jail before being released on her own recognizance. A judge has ordered the ravioli rager to have no contact with her sister.
