The Monday Night Football matchup between the Bengals and the Cowboys will have a unique twist. There will be an alternate, animated telecast of the December 9 game featuring a fully immersive Simpsons experience conveying the actual on-field action. Homer and Bart Simpson will “star.” The goal of the alternate broadcast is to expand the game’s reach. Last year the “Funday Football” Disney idea starred “Toy Story” characters.
To the shock of no one, the postgame fight between Michigan and Michigan State players has caught the attention of the Big Ten. Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller has confirmed that he’s been in contact with the conference. Michigan coach Sherrone Moore called the extracurricular activities “unacceptable,” and says any discipline for those found to be involved will be “handled internally.” There’s been no official comment from the Big Ten as of yet concerning the incident, or potential punishments that might be coming down.
TGI Fridays appears to be headed for bankruptcy. The chain closed 49 locations in the US last week, bringing the total closures to around 100 so far this year, including a dozen locations two weeks ago. “Bloomberg” has reported that the restaurant chain is getting ready to file for bankruptcy protection in the next few weeks; after this latest round of closures, only 164 restaurants are still open. The first TGI Fridays opened in 1965; the company was acquired by private equity firm Triartisan Capital Advisors in 2014.
