Memphis Ave Bridge To Reopen

After being closed for nearly a year, the Memphis Avenue Bridge in Brooklyn will reopen to traffic and commuters Monday, January 30th, ahead of schedule.
The 94-year-old 108 ft by 60 ft bridge had some major improvements over the past 12 months.
A new concrete facade to enhance the aesthetics, widened by 8 ft, 1/2 foot increase in sidewalk width, and other safety improvements. Roughly 22k drivers traveled the bridge before its closure and it's been tough for both drivers and businesses in the area.
The bridge was improved thanks to funding from the Ohio Public Works Commission, federal funding, and Cuyahoga County, totaling $5.8 million.
Yes, the bridge will reopen on Monday, January 30th, however, crews will continue with additional upgrades in the Spring of this year.
