Another aviation blunder!

A Southwest Airlines plane and private jet owned by Flexjet, whose headquarters are in Cleveland, nearly collided on the runway at Chicago Midway International Airport Tuesday morning.

In a statement following the incident, Southwest said the crew “performed a precautionary go around to avoid a possible conflict with another aircraft that entered the runway.”

The flight then reportedly landed without incident.

A spokesperson for Flexjet said, “We are aware of the occurrence today in Chicago. Flexjet adheres to the highest safety standards and we are conducting a thorough investigation. Any action to rectify and ensure the highest safety standards will be taken.”

No injuries were reported. The FAA continues to investigate.
