Bill Belichick's longtime run as the coach of the New England Patriots is over.
ESPN is reporting that Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft have agreed to part ways after a remarkable 24 seasons in which he won six Super Bowls. The Patriots finished a disappointing 2023 season with a 4-and-13 record and rumors had been swirling about Belichick's likely departure.
The 71-year-old coach ends his tenure as Patriots coach with a 386-and-267 record and is just 26 wins shy of Don Shula's all-time coaching record. It's believed he is not ready to retire from coaching and will likely look to fill a vacancy with another team in the coming months.
