It took two days for agents to bust three illegal cockfighting rings in Huron and Lorain County.
On Thursday, the Huron County Humane Society conducted an operation and rescued hundreds of roosters and other animals.
The next day, two more illegal rings - one in Sheffield Township, and one in Grafton, where they rescued nearly 250 chickens.
Both cases are under investigation, with one of the men in court yesterday. In Ohio dog fighting is a felony but cockfighting is only a 4th degree misdemeanor offense. Penalties could include a $250 fine or up to 30 days in jail.
