The final controlled demolition of the old Avon Lake Power Plant is now complete.
The implosion took place shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Residents were asked to remain indoors and close all windows and doors during the implosion.
Officials previously said asbestos was removed from the building, but residents were told to expect to see dust for at least 15 minutes after the demolition.
The plan is to redevelop the land so Avon Lake residents have more and better access to Lake Erie once the site is fully demolished.
