It's finally here! The 2024 NFL season gets underway tonight as the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens. If you didn't watch much preseason action, one new rule you'll notice right off the bat this year if the NFL's new kickoff rule.
The new rule moves all the players – except for the kicker – to the receiving team's end of the field (kicking team at the 40 yard line, receiving team at the 35). The kickoff is more like a play from scrimmage than the traditional kick off, with two guys back to return.
