'Morning Quickie': Record pace for early voting in Ohio

Close to 2,000 a day at some locations

Thousands of voters a day continue to stream into the Board of Elections offices across Ohio, a steady stream that has continued for weeks leading up to November’s general election.

With Tuesday observed as ‘National Early Voting Day,’ voters were patiently standing in line to cast their ballots early.

Boards of Election offices were opening for extended hours through the last week before November’s election.

In Cleveland, the Board of Elections believes it is possible to break an early voting record of 60,000 voters before next Tuesday. They’ve already tabulated more than 42,000 early votes. The early-voting location able to accommodate as many as 3,000 voters a day.

Cuyahoga County held an early voting event on Tuesday, Oct.
29 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, which will be open on election day as a voting location.
