For the first time ever, it looks like NCAA schools will be able to pay players directly.

The move is part of a plan to settle three federal antitrust lawsuits. The NCAA will pay $2.7 billion over 10 years to past and current athletes. And as part of the agreement, each school will be permitted to share up to $20 million a year in revenue with its players.

Assuming that a federal judge signs off on the agreement, the revenue-sharing plan would like begin in 2025.
