It was just a matter of time, and now it’s finally happened. Yesterday afternoon, Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Shohei Ohtani became the first MLB player to ever hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season. Facing off against the Miami Marlins, Ohtani was able to swipe third base in the top of the first inning. Ohtani was able to then follow that up with his 49th and 50th home runs of the season in the sixth and seventh innings making him the sole member of the 50/50 club. But, his historic night wasn't done quite yet. Ohtani went on to his his third home run of the game, giving him 51 on the year.
