Twenty-five different recordings are being added to the prestigious National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. The recordings span from 1908 through 2012 and meet the criteria of being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant,” as well as at least 10 years old. Some of the entrants this year include: "Déjà Vu" — Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (1970), "Imagine" — John Lennon (1971), "Stairway to Heaven" — Led Zeppelin (1971), "Take Me Home, Country Roads" — John Denver (1971), "Margaritaville" — Jimmy Buffett (1977), "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" — Eurythmics (1983), and "Synchronicity" — The Police (1983). Others include "Like a Virgin" — Madonna (1984), "All I Want for Christmas is You" — Mariah Carey (1994), and the Super Mario Bros. theme — Koji Kondo, composer (1986). The National Recording Registry collection now includes 625 pieces of audio from radio broadcasts, significant speeches, songs and more.
Tommy Lee is among the famous faces featured in a new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series The Muppets Mayhem. Lee’s appearance comes at the front of the trailer, as the Motley Crue drummer praises the Muppet band for having impacted his career. The show centers around the rock band that originated on The Muppet Show in 1975. Other cameos seen within the trailer include Cheech and Chong, Weird Al Yankovic, Lil Nas X, Chris Stapleton, and Paula Abdul. The Muppets Mayhem will be released on May 10.
