'Morning Quickie': Al Pacino turned down this movie, & a stretch of highway renamed for Prince

What's trending to start your day

Iconic actor Al Pacino turned 83 yesterday, and he’s been reminiscing about his career. In a recent interview, Pacino gave some insight as to why he made the call to turn down the role of Han Solo in “Star Wars.” The actor said, “I got the script, they offered me so much money, but I (didn’t) understand it.” So, he turned it down, and later regretted it. Hey, at least he gave Harrison Ford a career.

And in honor of Prince, Minnesota lawmakers voted unanimously to rename a seven-mile of Highway Five section as "Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway." Tributes were held throughout the Twin Cities to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the death of "His Royal Badness." Prince died of an accidental overdose on April 21st, 2016. He was 57. You can call it the "Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway.", but I’ll call it "The stretch of road formerly known as Highway Five."
