Will Ferrell is the frontrunner to play late NFL coach, television broadcaster, and video game pioneer John Madden in a new film from director David O. Russell. Simply titled Madden, the biopic will be produced for Prime Video Sports based on a script by Cambron Clark. The film will focus on Madden’s post-coaching career, during which he created an even bigger legacy as a larger-than-life broadcaster and co-creator of EA Sports’ groundbreaking NFL video game series, which launched in 1988. Madden continued to lend his name and creative input to the franchise even after retiring from the broadcast booth in 2009. “After being forced into retirement by the Oakland Raiders, fiery former NFL head coach John Madden teams up with a mild-mannered Harvard programmer to rewrite his fading legacy by building the world’s first football video game,” reads Clark’s official logline for the project. There is no indication yet when filming on Madden will start or when the movie will be released.

And the Internet is full of rumors that turn out not to be true, but a recent one about a popular soft serve ice cream chain is, unfortunately. Dairy Queen is getting rid of their classic cherry-dipped ice cream cone and fans are not happy about it. DQ confirmed the rumors that first started on TikTok, when an account from a Dairy Queen franchise in Shelby Township, Michigan, shared that the cherry dip was on the way out. The employee in the video explains, “It’s already sold out in our warehouse, so once we deplete the inventory in the store, we’ll be sold out until further notice.” While Dairy Queen will continue to offer the chocolate-dipped cone and a churro-dipped cone, along with their regular vanilla cone, it’s just not the same for the cherry-lovers.
