By most measures, the first day for Meta’s Threads app was a success. Mark Zuckerberg said yesterday morning that the app had already signed up 30 million users, making it the most popular Twitter competitor after less than one day in operation. Threads launched less than a week after Elon Musk announced that Twitter would limit the number of tweets people can view on the platform each week. The battle between the competing social media platforms heated up yesterday when it was revealed that attorneys for Twitter had sent a cease and desist letter to Zuckerberg on Wednesday, accusing Meta of misappropriating Twitter’s trade secrets with the help of former Twitter employees hired by Meta. Andy Stone, a spokesperson for Meta, said in a post on Threads that “No one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee.”

During her shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Adele has apparently developed a fungal skin infection, which she attributed to sweating in her Spanx under the hot lights. Adele joked that she had contracted "jock itch" and - of course - shared this with her audience. Hear her story below.

And the Powerball And Mega Million jackpots are getting hefty! The Powerball jackpot is nearing 600-million dollars. No one won Wednesday's grand prize of $546-million, so the jackpot rolls over to Saturday's drawing and will be worth an estimated $590-million. The Mega Millions jackpot is also reaching astronomical heights, and will be worth about $427-million when those numbers are drawn this Friday.
