'Morning Quickie': Severe weather, & Barbie and Oppenheimer open in theaters

What's trending

Northeast Ohio experienced severe weather last evening. There were many reports of hail and high wind gusts up to 80 mph. 50,000 plus people were without power overnight. The weather also spawned some tornado warnings throughout the area.

And Barbie and Oppenheimer both land in theaters today. The fims couldn’t be more different: one is a sweetly subversive comedy starring Margot Robbie as Barbie, while the other is a cerebral, three-hour drama about the making of the atomic bomb. But, the two films have become an unlikely double feature, with more than 200,000 moviegoers already buying tickets to see both on the same day, according to the National Association of Theatre Owners.
