That trademark in New Jersey was held by Gregory's Restaurant, who claim to have invented the phrase. When Taco Bell took Taco John's to court to "liberate" the phrase, Taco Bell decided it would be too costly to fight that battle, leaving New Jersey the only state with a trademark. Now Gregory's has come to the same conclusion, choosing not to fight with Taco Bell over the phrase.
