What's trending from the weekend

One of the stars of the iconic sitcom “Friends” has left us. Matthew Perry was found dead at the age of 54 in his hot tub on Saturday in Los Angeles. Police reportedly responded to a call from Perry’s assistant after she returned from running an errand for the actor. First responders were originally called to Perry’s home in the Pacific Palisades for cardiac arrest when they found him in the jacuzzi. No drugs were said to have been found at the scene, and foul play is reportedly not suspected.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” wrote Perry’s family in the aftermath. “Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.” Perry's mother Suzanne married "Dateline" journalist Keith Morrison in 1981 and Morrison was very close to his stepson. The family was seen arriving at Perry's house after his death. They were joined by the actor's dad, John Bennett Perry. Matthew's parents divorced when he was just a year old.
