A skydiver in Zephyrhills, Florida managed to drop his smartphone from 12K feet…and the phone survived to text another day. Frank Carballido says the incident happened in late March, when he “got that feeling” that his phone was missing. Later, video shot during a skydive showed the exact moment when the phone fell out of his pocket…as he and another skydiver were “performing a mid-air trick.” Using the “find my device” feature, Carballido was able to find the coordinates where his phone landed, which turned out to be the soft floor in a forest. When he found the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, housed in a Deerlamn case, it was completely undamaged and totally functional…even after falling over two-and-a-half miles.
