Former NFL great and Hall of Famer Randy Moss announced Friday that he had undergone a six-hour surgery to remove a cancerous mass from his bile duct. He’s still undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatment.
The Vikings opened Monday night's game by sending two of Moss' former teammates, Cris Carter and Jake Reed, to midfield as honorary captains during the coin toss.
During the game, the Vikings were taking on the Bears and current All-pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson gave Moss a special shout-out after catching a touchdown pass.
Minnesota beat Chicago 30-12. As for Randy Moss, he’s taking a leave of absence from his role as an analyst on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown."
