'Morning Quickie': Suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting arrested

Apprehended at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania

Police in Altoona, Pennsylvania, arrested a suspect yesterday in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The suspect, Luigi Nicholas Mangione, is a 26-year-old graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science. Mangione was arrested after a customer at a McDonald’s in Altoona recognized him and told an employee of the restaurant to call the police. The suspect had handwritten material with him which New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said in a press conference yesterday showed that he had bad feelings “toward corporate America.” Late last night, Manhattan prosecutors filed several charges against Mangione that included murder.
