Normally, the NFL has the power to flex the schedule for more desirable matchups in prime television slots…unless “The Simpsons” are involved. On December 9th, the Monday night matchup will feature two of the most wildly disappointing teams of the year…the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Bengals. This game would be an easy decision if the league was considering moving a game, but they can’t. The “Simpsons” alt-cast is slated to air on Disney+ and ESPN+, with Bart Simpson coaching the Bengals and Homer Simpson leading the Cowboys. Because of the artwork, voiceovers, and other work involved to make the broadcast click, there’s no way to flex a game…even if it’s between teams that are 3-7 and 4-7.
