Thousands in NE Ohio without power after storms

Thousands of Northeast Ohio residents are left in the dark after storms swept through the area. According to FirstEnergy, as of 4:30 a.m., more than 250,000 customers in Ohio are without power. The majority of those customers are located in Northeast Ohio. In Cuyahoga County, nearly 70,000 customers are dealing with a power outage. First Energy has not yet reported when customers can expect lights to be turned back on. Other counties with significant outages, as of 4:30 a.m., include:

Geauga County: 24,942

Lake County: 38,505

Lorain County: 13,559

Mahoning: 17,518

Portage County: 27,170

Stark County: 5,392

Summit County: 17,630

Trumbull County: 12,240

There were also tornado warnings issued in 14 Ohio counties last night. Look out for downed power lines, trees and flooded areas that have been reported across the state by local police and fire departments.
