Experts from the National Weather Service were in Northeast Ohio yesterday to assess storm damage and determine if any tornadoes touched down.
By Wednesday evening, the NWS has confirmed two tornadoes during Tuesday’s storms. The first in Bedford and Valley View, while the second touched down in Avon Lake and lifted in Rocky River.
As of 5 a.m. on Thursday, FirstEnergy reports more than 270,000 customers in Ohio are without power. Here’s where most of the outages are located and when the utility estimates service could be restored:
Ashtabula County: 6,440 outages
Estimated restoration: Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11:30 p.m.
Cuyahoga County: 177,865 outages
Estimated restoration: Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11:30 p.m.
Geauga County: 23,530 outages
Estimated restoration: Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11:30 p.m.
Lake County: 43,441 outages
