We told you last week about two juveniles who were being held in connection with the Kansas City shooting, but yesterday two other men were officially charged with murder in connection with the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration shooting. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced at a news conference yesterday that Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City and Lyndell Mays of Raytown have each been charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. Two juveniles were charged separately in the shooting, but the two adults are being held on $1-million bond each. The two suspects named yesterday were both injured in the shooting and are still in the hospital.
During the conference, Baker said that the evidence collected so far in the investigation shows that one of the two men got into an argument, which started with a remark about whether one person was looking at another. According to charging documents, the altercation escalated after one of the two suspects allegedly pulled a gun, which immediately led to other guns being drawn by several other people. Miller allegedly opened fire, and it was allegedly his gunfire that struck and killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan. A Glock 9mm handgun found near Mays was reported stolen from a location in Kansas City.
Baker stressed during the press conference that the investigation is far from over, saying that authorities are determined to bring everyone to justice for any illegal actions they took…”every…single…one.”
