As warmer temps have returned to NE Ohio, the National Weather Service in Cleveland is warning everybody to stay off of the ice on Lake Erie.
“It is STRONGLY ADVISED to STAY OFF THE ICE on Lake Erie on Monday!” the NWS posted on Facebook. “The ice has been weakened by recent thaw/freeze cycles and winds, and gusty southwest winds on Monday will be prone to pushing ice away from the shoreline...which would strand anyone caught on it.”
First responders around Northeast Ohio have made multiple ice rescues in recent days.
