The image sparked a lot of buzz, but Kelce addressed the situation during this week’s podcast of "New Heights." While praising Swift’s show as "incredible," Kelce launched into defense of why it only looked like he was napping - and he totally wasn't.
“Travis, you know I didn’t take a nap,” Jason said jokingly, giving some context. "We brought a bunch of people to the show—Mom went for the first time, and we were trying to make sure everyone could come... So I’m like, okay, I’m gonna sit down, just like feeling it, tapping my thigh, and then all of a sudden I go on Twitter and see this f---ing picture.”
Kelce pointed out a key detail in the photo to clear his name: "If you zoom in on my right hand, my hand is hovering. You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee. It’s impossible!" Indeed, his hand was visibly suspended above his knee, proving that he wasn’t sleeping and saving him from the wrath of Swifties—for now.
