Following up the official release of the track which originally dropped over the summer as the vinyl-only B-side to "Perhaps," and debuted live during their two-night stint at L.A.'s Hollywood Bowl in late 2023, Guns N' Roses have given their single "The General" an official video.
Jam-packed with AI-generated animation created with Dan Potter of London-based studio Creative Works, the video shows frontman Axl Rose and the rest of the GN’R crew performing and taking on animated forms. Check out the AI-generated video for "The General" below.
Via the band’s press release for the new video, the clip "intercuts 20 live vignettes with an A.I.-animated psychedelic visual trip... dives into the subconscious of a young boy who stares down the monsters of dark childhood memories, blurring worlds in the process. The result is unlike anything the band has done before and continues a longstanding historic tradition of bold visuals from Guns N’ Roses.”
The release of "The General" joins GN'R's two other Chinese Democracy session leftovers -- "Hard Skool" and "ABSURD" -- as official singles and, apparently, there are a few more tracks still waiting to see the light of day.
