Joan Jett took girl power to a whole new level as she recently teamed up with animal rights organization, PETA, for a commercial urging women’s rights supporters to think beyond the human species.

The commercial, which premiered on October 21, features the animal-loving rocker as her face morphs into different types of animals while encouraging viewers to fight for the reproductive rights of female animals.

“We are daughters, sisters, and mothers,” Jett states. “We all feel pain and fear and love, and if any of us were forcibly bred or had our breast milk or eggs taken and sold, or our children stolen from us to be experimented on, we’d all feel violated and angry and heartbroken.”

She continues, “Ask yourself: Would I wish this fate on my mother or my sister or me? We are all sisters under the skin. End speciesism.”

The commercial isn’t Jett’s first time working with PETA. She also appeared in ads promoting a meatless diet in 2012 and spoke on their behalf at a shareholders meeting for Sea World in 2022 in favor of ending the theme park’s breeding program.
