It was during the second week of February this year that I received a call from Michael's daughter, Anna. She wanted to stop by with some things that Michael wanted me to have. She gave me an envelope with two letters in it and a framed copy of The New York Herald's April 15th 1865 edition. The first letter was to you, his fans, which we shared with you on the day we found out he had passed on. The second one was to me. I called him to thank him for the Herald, which broke the news of the Lincoln assassination, and the letters. He said that there were some people that he wanted to contact via the written word so that he could say what he wanted to without breaking down. The treatments had taken their toll and right then it became clear to me that Michael was saying goodbye to us all in a manner in which he felt most able. Within a month he was gone. Since then, this letter has been in a frame on a dresser in my bedroom, it is the first thing I see every morning. As we approach the six month anniversary of his passing I would like to share it with you. Also, you are hereby invited to enjoy a Michael Stanley and the Resonators concert in its' entirety Saturday starting at 8pm, presented with limited commercial content on 98 FIVE NCX Cleveland's Classic Rock.
