Look, up in the sky. You think you're seeing pillars of light, but actually ice crystals in these freezing temperatures become illuminated by existing light creating the spectacular effect. You can see some examples here, but check out the pillars out by the old Coliseum. It looks like nature is begging for just one more encore.
